Late night mommy thoughts
Don't you love the end of the day? When all is quiet and we have time to pause, that's when we can finally have these late night thoughts. As new mothers, our days go by in such a blur, we barely have time for ourselves (I know this because my bladder is almost always full!)I try to remember by looking through my phone's camera roll and I'm greeted by photos like this:
A typical day
I remember that I got spit-up on my shoulder twice today, but also that my heart crumbled into a million pieces when my daughter gave me the biggest gummy smile right after. She had a mini meltdown at lunch, and then I placed her in the Ergobaby and went out to run some bank errands. We got back just in time for an afternoon nap, and a few hours later we had adobo flakes and rice for dinner. And so here I am now, typing in the dark next to my sleeping husband and daughter, doing a mental inventory of my day.
Late night thoughts of prayer
My heart is overwhelmed, and the words just come tumbling out.Dear LORD, thank You for today. Thank You that my family is all together in one bed, sleeping peacefully, with no worries of tomorrow. You have been so loving to us. Thank You that today, we laughed. We walked. We spoke to each other kindly. Thank You for the blessing of family. Most of all, thank You for You. You are Love, and we wouldn't be able to love if You hadn't loved us first. You are amazing. My husband keeps asking me what I want for Christmas. Truth is, nothing. I don't want anything. I have all I need and want, and I couldn't be happier.Good night! What do you think about at the end of the day?
